Dr. Nia Imani Bailey, Radiation Therapist & Philanthropist, life’s work is dedicated to driving reform in healthcare and educating communities about breast cancer awareness and resources. Dr. Bailey’s extensive background and multifaceted talents make her a true force for positive change.
As the Founder and President of Agape—Finding Your Purpose, Incorporating Your Faith, Dr. Nia is dedicated to the mission of feeding, clothing, and fellowshipping with the homeless individuals in Philadelphia. This mission is deeply personal for Nia, as a proud West Philadelphia native. Her work with Agape is not just about providing basic necessities, but about bringing dignity, connection, and hope to those in need.
In addition to her work with Agape, Dr. Nia is an accomplished scholar. She earned a Master’s of Arts in Bilingual and Bicultural Studies at LaSalle University. She further pursued her passion for public service by completing her Doctoral program in Public Administration at West Chester University. Her research focus on Federal Health Reform in relation to Breast Cancer Outcomes has been pivotal. Her qualitative dissertation aims to demonstrate the significance of lowering the mammography age from 40 to 30 years, and to analyze policy frameworks surrounding screening mammograms and insurance coverage.
This extensive research contributed to the creation of her critically acclaimed film, “A Letter To My Sisters: A Breast Cancer Documentary for Young Women,” for which Dr. Nia served as the screenwriter. The film not only shares the experiences of young women from diverse backgrounds in their breast cancer journeys but also emphasizes prevention measures. Dr. Bailey’s work serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for countless individuals.
