PinkMission Summit Introducing Rasheena Phinisee

In the realm of advocacy, few individuals exemplify dedication and tenacity as much as Rasheena Phinisee. A Temple University graduate, serial business owner, and the creator of the impactful Our Black Bodies podcast, Rasheena’s journey has been one of remarkable resilience and empowerment.

Rasheena’s story is deeply intertwined with her experiences as a transplant caregiver, patient advocate, and breast cancer survivor. These roles have granted her invaluable insights into the medical experiences of black patients within the healthcare system. This profound understanding propelled her to establish Assiah’s Liver Fund, a nonprofit organization that advocates for organ donation and transplantation awareness in communities of color.

Assiah’s Liver Fund operates on the belief that education is key to fostering diversity and inclusion within the organ transplantation industry. Through children’s books and creative initiatives, the organization seeks to engage, educate, and empower communities of color, providing vital information about organ donation and transplantation.

Rasheena’s work has not gone unnoticed. Her efforts have been featured on renowned networks such as FOX, ABC, CBS, and The Breakfast Club, among others. Her journey has been defined by a steadfast commitment to advocating for change and challenging disparities in healthcare.

As a breast cancer survivor and clinical trial recipient, Rasheena’s story is a testament to the strength that lies within us all. Her experiences have uniquely positioned her to support medical advancements specifically tailored to improve outcomes for women of color in cancer populations. This dedication led to the creation of the Pink Ball, a formal charity event designed to support cancer research in women of color.

Furthermore, we are proud to announce that Rasheena Phinisee is the recipient of the funds that will be raised during the event. These funds will be donated to Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green, a STEM pioneer, leader, humanitarian, and entrepreneur who is introducing the world to the next generation of cancer treatments, cancer charities, and affordable healthcare. Dr. Green’s revolutionary cancer treatment utilizes lasers and nanotechnology to eliminate cancer in mice after just one 10-minute treatment in only 15 days, with no observable side effects. To ensure the affordability of this treatment, Dr. Green founded the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation (OraLee.org), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funding for human clinical trials.

Join us on October 8th to hear Rasheena’s inspiring journey and to stand together in our mission to raise awareness and provide support for those affected by breast cancer.
